Why should I hire a travel advisor?
Even in the age of online booking, travel agents are a great source of information. A travel advisor can make sure that your trip is tailored to you, assist you in case of unexpected problems, and help you anticipate potential issues in advance. Using a travel advisor has many advantages. Besides offering personalized advice and services, we provide you with a stress-free planning experience. We are also well versed in the language and culture of the countries you are visiting, making it easier to navigate unfamiliar places. Additionally, we can provide invaluable insider knowledge and access to exclusive experiences. Finally, Travel Advisors can act as your advocate in case of any issues that may arise during your trip.
What tools does a travel advisor use when booking a trip?
I use a special accreditation number to book your travel. This number allows me access to specialized agent websites from popular travel suppliers to obtain quotes for my clients. This number is not available to the average traveler, so it often lets me offer my client special amenities.
To ensure top-notch service, I partner with the best travel vendors around the world. These partners love that I bring them clients, so they do their best to wow my customers so they go home with rave reviews! Our partnerships also come in very handy when things don’t go exactly according to plan during the trip.
I have access to perks and upgrades such as, room upgrades, complimentary meals, spa credits, and more! As a professional travel advisor, I may be able to secure perks for my clients that the regular traveler can’t get on their own.
Do you book group travel?
Yes, I do! Do you belong to an organization that the members would love to take a vacation together? This could include a quilters club, a wine club, golf club... Do you have an upcoming conference for your business and need someone to help with the logistics. Maybe it is a student trip or a wellness trip. Or maybe it is just a group of friends that are wanting to get together and take a trip. We can handle the details and ensure that you have access to group seating, entrances, and discounts.
Do I need a passport if I am taking a cruise?
It is strongly recommended that everyone taking a cruise from the United States have a passport book. Though some “closed-loop” cruises may not require a U.S. passport, it is recommended that you bring yours in case of an emergency, such as an unexpected medical air evacuation, the ship docking at an alternate port, or you miss your ship and need to go to the next port in another country to board your ship. Bottom line: It is always best to take your passport! Check out what the Cruise Critic has to say about why you should have your passport.
Why do you charge a fee?
Just as you might hire a professional, such as, a financial planner or an accountant, it makes sense to entrust your most valuable asset – your time – to someone that is a travel advisor professional. These fees cover the time required to research and propose a comprehensive itinerary(s), and make recommendations based on industry knowledge and experience. Why do I need travel Insurance?
A vacation isn't as big an investment as your car or your home. But it's still a lot of money. You purchase airfare, accommodations, maybe excursions, or other activities. Most of it is paid for entirely in advance. Isn’t all this value worth insuring, in case some unforeseen problem threatens your travel plans?
A lot of people weigh the additional expense and ask, “Is travel insurance worth it?” Most of the time, the answer is an all-caps YES. This is why.
When you have travel insurance with trip cancellation benefits, you can get reimbursement for prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs when you must cancel for a COVERED REASON. Most of us simply can't afford to lose our vacation investment.
When a medical emergency happens it can be REALLY expensive to get care outside of the US. Many foreign medical facilities and providers do not accept US insurance plans, and Medicare does not provide coverage outside of the United States.
Also, what happens if your flight is delayed (again) or is cancelled? What if your luggage is lost? Whether you’re planning a solo adventure or a grand, multi-generational getaway, the whole point is to relax and enjoy the journey. Travel insurance can bring peace of mind and ease your anxiety because you know you have protection in case of common travel mishaps.
During our conversations and planning we will talk more about the need for travel insurance.
